My hand-drawn traditional pet portraits primarily use black ink to capture the fur and nose in particular, with additional elements of colour being added in watercolours, coloured pencils, alcohol markers and acrylic inks for eyes and further areas of interest.

A series of pen strokes make up the body of this portrait variant, as such the resulting portrait captures your pets' fur as individual strands. This is particularly striking in darker pets when placed against a white paper with brighter coloured elements.

For a more subtle result, you may be interested in a toned paper such as blue or grey to reduce the highlights
